wow andy, what is that!! where did you get these falsetas from?? so cool and modern!

Andy Culpepper -> RE: Starting a crazy-cool negra (Jun. 17 2012 17:49:58)

Thanks Kris. I would definitely consider putting a bevel on the next guitar I make for myself, and it will definitely have a cutaway. I really hate it when I compose a nice falseta, like the bulerias falseta I played in the video, and it goes up to fret 14-15 with no capo, and then once the capo goes on it's literally unplayable.

Thanks Ahmad! Just stuff I've been working on lately from my twisted brain. Modern sounds are intriguing me more and more now...

Andy,

What is the up charge for just a cutaway feature?

Andy Culpepper -> RE: Starting a crazy-cool negra (Jun. 19 2012 12:47:27)

Heavy,
I've set my cutaway price at $200.

Have you looked in to doing a scoop? rather than a full cut away? you retain alot more of the body and all of the advantages of a cut away. Over here they are called the Benjamin Scoop the name of the creator, There are others who probably lay claim to it aswell. It's easier to do so the up charge would be less.

Yeah I've definitely thought about trying that or even just a simple bevel up there. I haven't tried one so I can't really say for myself if it has all the benefits of a cutaway. Just checked out Nick Benjamin's site over there in the UK, pretty nice work. Have you tried making a scoop?
