Hi,

The website 13zif.com does have now lessons in English. For now they only have the beginners level but I asked them and they said that more advanced levels will be added in the future.
Hope this helps

Hey guys, this thread is great! Have any of you already bought an oud? Has anyone learned to play some stuff?

What an amazing instrument, I like it as much as guitar. I've wanted one for ages... after I have the means to buy a good Flamenco guitar, I'll start saving for an oud...

Anyways, here's an israeli/palestinian documentary about the oud and the oud master Munir Bashir. It is in arabic but has english subtitles:

I picked up an oud while I was living in Israel some years back. I found it fairly easy to figure out after playing flamenco for so long. Turkish tuning is great to use when playing with a guitarist. Capo the second fret of the guitar and they're both in the tune of F#...

BTW, a good oudist to look into is Yair Dalal. Rabih Abu Khalil is another great one, too...
