John O. -> Could somebody PULEEZE translate??? (Mar. 29 2012 20:53:50)

From Camaron:

Tu eres negra y cataplausia
Tambien quieres un quitasol,
Ay por que dices
Que no venias
Porque no tiene color
Y eres negra y catapacia

Especially "cataplausia" and "catapacia", I found this in three sources so it must be right, what is it???

Oh, it's from "BulerĂas de la Perla" off the album "Calle Real", at 3:21!

Thanks!

A native speaker from Peru didn't even get it, I wasn't sure if it was an Andalusian thing.

Where's Norman??? [:D]

Yeah Romerito nailed it. A quitasol is another word for a parasol.
The last line of the bulerias is
Que tu eres de La Habana
Que yo soy habanero.

That tells you its about a dark skinned cuban guy talking to a dark skinned cuban girl who is complaining that she wont go with him because she is pale skinned and wants to sit under a parasol.
