A musical hero. He wasn't just a country or bluegrass player. He played with Dylan and Joan Baez. He didn't talk about the relationship of bluegrass to the folk-based protest songs of the sixties. He just showed up and played.

I'm a huge fan. I came to flamenco late in life, but I've been a bluegrass fan since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Earl was a living legend.
