TANúñez -> For Phil (Aug. 29 2003 19:34:06)

Phil,

I just read your story about your lesson with your teacher's son Manolo. I loved it and found it really entertaining as I do all your posts.

You have a very great way of writing. Everytime I read one of your stories I feel like I'm right there with you experiencing it in person as well. Sorry this is not on the topic of flamenco but I just had to tell you that you have an amazing talent for writing. Writing isn't your profession is it?

Just wondering if you've ever written books. I don't get into reading much because very few writers can keep my attention. You on the other hand are good. If you had written the bible I would be able to read it from beginning to end in record time and several times at that.

Like I said this post has nothing to do with flamenco but I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy reading your posts.

That's true Phil, you are a great writer. El Zurdo hit in on the head, very few writers can keep my attention either. Another interseting thing he said was...well, okay I didn't read his whole post!

But seriously, I was excited to share my experiences in Sevilla because I remembered how entertaining I found your lessons with el Carbonero, but I fell short! Keep em coming, amigo!

Thanks, Tom and Michael, for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoy my little accounts. Obviously, I'm taking some poetic license with the facts, but not nearly as much as you might think. Since I'm as about as creative as a xerox machine, I need real incidents to give me something to work with. I wish I could think this stuff up all by myself. It's one thing to write a couple of humorous paragraphs every now and then, and quite another to do it on a daily basis and make a living doing it. But thanks for the encouragement.
Phil
