I am interested in a Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 2F-05 and have a question. I understand it is a factory guitar and there will variability in sound but wonder if the sound is, for a lack of a better phrase, more new school flamenco (e.g., conde or similiar guitars) or more old school (e.g., barbero, ramirez, etc.) . Thanks.

Hey Keith !

Hmm imo you can play on any guitar old or new school stuff. In general I have the feeling to more shattering sound the more compatible to old stuff. Just lower the strings and you get more "traditional dirty" sound.. hmm just test it and see if it fits your wishes.

doit--thanks for the input. i guess i should have phrased the question better. does the 2f-05 have a sound like a dry raspy sound (e.g., early 60's ramirez) or a more along the lines a fuller body sound (e.g., modern conde)?

I disagree with your generalization about what a Ramirez or Conde sound like but I will say is very comparable to Conde guitars in terms of look feel and sound. Only major difference is sanchis has thinner tops and more bass then say a26 Blanca

Here you can compare Conde a26 on right to thebhermanos sanchis Lopez on left. His model is actually Rafael Cortes model but it is very similar to 1f and 2f models I have played.

ricardo--thanks for the input. i agree about trying to typologize a sound to a company--i guess what i was looking for was if the guitars would invoke a comparison to the guitars one would hear on a nino ricardo or sabicas c.d. vs a guitar one would hear played by a more "modern" day play (say paco and others of the post paco era).

The model called solea by hermanos sanchis Lopez was a little different and had that pronounced woody accent like ni~o Ricardo's guitar. I felt it was deliberate attempt to evoke that old voice, but it was a low end instrument so it impressed me. I played a couple of that same model and they were all the same style
