kudo -> help Identify Mystery object?? (Mar. 22 2012 4:03:40)

I have no idea what this is, I took pictures of it, those were the best pictures I was able to take since lots of people were around it, trying to figure out what it is.nobody knows where it came from, it was just there on the floor

what do you think this is? what device does it come from? I have never seen this thing before in anything, have you???

by examining it, theres a big motor, and the thing seem to go back and forth and has cams on it.

any ideas or any clues will help and your help is appreciated. thanks!

its about 50lbs and 3 feet long

It attaches to the flux capacitor....but you need to generate 1.21 gigawatts of electricity to get it going.

Ron.M -> RE: help Identify Mystery object?? (Mar. 22 2012 8:03:28)

Put it on eBay as a "motorised thing" and see what happens..

Ron

Nah...kudo says it's about 3ft.....pretty small window or pretty big typewriter IMO.

And what is the purpose of the rotating eccentric cams?

As I said, stick it on eBay...

If anybody says "What is it?", you say "It's $250 plus shipping" [:D]

cheers,

Ron

PS: Make sure you do NOT ship to Iran or N.Korea or you might just get a visit from the Federal Heavy Squad...

Gummy -> RE: help Identify Mystery object?? (Mar. 22 2012 23:00:37)

My guess is it opens a hatch in the ceiling oe floor. The threaded shaft pushes and pulls one end and the whole contraption is under something heavy that slides. The cam rollers allow the hatch to travel along them without binding.

hamia -> RE: help Identify Mystery object?? (Mar. 23 2012 0:26:12)

Could be a stepper motor. They are used in various, mostly industrial, applications.

odinz -> RE: help Identify Mystery object?? (Mar. 23 2012 1:09:34)

Does it have a gear to attach a chain, like ones on a motorcycle or something?

Maybe it is one of those things for a garagedoor, or a part of one[8|]
