Jim, Indeed, go for it. There is so much to be learned from following a plan. And yet, even with the best of plans, our "copies" are approximations at best, as various nuances are difficult to perceive even if you have an original on your bench, let alone following a two dimensional drawing. One of the most obvious shortfalls of a plan is that one has absolutely no idea of the flexibility and density of the woods used. Even so, I love the concept of following a plan exactly, as it forces me to get out my rut (my personal style and habits) and see guitars from a different perspective. If you decide to use this general plan on later guitars, you can tweak various details to suit your taste, but on the first one, I'd stick to the plan as much as possible.
