The only person I know who can do it ALL, is Rafael de Carmen

and Paco Fernandez, he even sings in his CD !! (there is a thread on him somewhere here with videos)

Attend a juerga with Los Farruco. They do it all. Farruco plays with more aire in his pinky than all of us put together lol. Tasty falsetas, simple but passionate. Makes you want o quit.

Simple but passionate, that's what I like.

The question is at what point would we recognize flamenco. I think we would probably not recognize Planeta's cante as what we know today as flamenco. People sing his LETRA not his cante.

interresting...
how would you describe flamenco cante? There was a thread that categoriezed flamenco voices, but besides voice comes the interpretation. I havent seen any categories on that, but what effects make the flamenco singing? Theres many different styles of interpreting for sure.

and if people are not singing the same way today as Planeta, why would it not be flamenco and viseversa? The letras are a big part of flamenco cante. The way flamenco is done changes because people do it and people change.

The core must be the same, but in this case, what is the core of cante?
