gounaro -> Online shops (Mar. 8 2012 14:23:28)

Do you know any other string shops except "Strings By Mail" and "Lord Of The Strings"?

Sr. Martins -> RE: Online shops (Mar. 8 2012 14:47:26)

LOTS is nice, just received two packs some hours ago. The shipping is low cost and it took 3 days for the strings to get here.

BTW, these red trebles La Bella's sound and feel very good.

I use stringsbymail.com, and have never found a reason to shop elsewhere ...

Ditto, I discovered them recently and they sell single strings for any brand, as far as I know. I order bass sets only because I have so many unused trebles.

I'm using Strings By Mail too, but i found here in Europe that Luthier's cost cheaper with shipping than US shipping with Strings by Mail.

The only bad with "Lord of The Strings" is that it's only selling whole sets and not single ones.

Rui, what's the link?

Sr. Martins -> RE: Online shops (Mar. 8 2012 19:44:05)

I bought these:

http://www.lordofthestrings.com/lots/RAPRD/La-Bella-820-Flamenco/09010009.html

..and those:

http://www.lordofthestrings.com/lots/RAPRD/Aranjuez-Flamenco/11001075.html

Besides LOTS I havent found any store in europe worth buying from. You end up paying more for shipping than the cost of the strings.

pieter -> RE: Online shops (Mar. 8 2012 20:23:09)

worth checking: http://www.saitenmarkt.com/
from Germany (EEC), ok prices with good (quick) service.

Thanks for the link Pieter but it lacks of variation...

Sr. Martins -> RE: Online shops (Mar. 8 2012 20:59:11)

I was just checking that site. Lots of cool stuff at a good price but if you only want classical/flamenco strings, then there's really not much to choose from. Lots of Hannabach though.

You'll have to wait for that Aranjuez review hehe

At least the packaging is awesome. By the "cover" I thought they were "rusticly" packaged, they're not.

The La Bella's sound really good but the intonation on my high E is a bit sharp.. hope it stabilizes and corrects itself.

...

Well, to be honest the "a bit sharp" is actually "too sharp" lol

Anyways, I never felt so much difference and never liked a set of strings so much, specially when new. Ive played mostly d'addarios with other brands on mixed on the trebles, didnt like Savarez although they felt different from d'addarios.. but these 820's are just like I have a different guitar on my hands now. Love the raspy sound and the feeling of the strings. Too bad that this high E string seems to be crap lol

Some other guys here have problem with the B string. Bad intonation.

No more La Bella's for me. I prefer Luthier's and Daddario's Composites basses.

Sr. Martins -> RE: Online shops (Mar. 8 2012 22:14:34)

There ya go. I didnt like composite basses, at least not the HT set. Very boomy and stiff.

Hi Foro Flamenco Members,

This is La Bella Strings based in New York.

We recognize that we had some issues with our black and red nylon in our 2001 Series and 820B & 820 Series.

We've officially rolled out our new & improved trebles. Keep an eye out for sets that have a yellow sticker on them saying "NEW IMPROVED TREBLES" [see set image below].

If you had ANY issues with the nylon, please email info@labella.com to receive a free replacement.

We appreciate your business and apologize for any issues. We'd like to make things right and are eager to roll out the new trebles to everyone who had a problem with them.

Best,
La Bella Strings
