it's fun to do. Juani Serrano (Juan Serrano's son) taught us some mesa rhythms using both hands (with right hand accenting with knuckle beats) a few years ago here in Fresno

He likes to transfer them to his guitar to 'wow' audiences.

Tops of your fingers get a little sore at first, but get used to it like anything else.
