Pingaloka -> New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 1 2012 20:18:19)

Hello everybody!! I'ved started a new Blog about flamenco in Granada, Spain.
I will try to make it dynamic, and have interesting stuff: artists, perfomances, relevant news, anything that relates to flamenco in Granada from the point of view of an Aficionado.
It will be written in both english and spanish. Some of you will have to forgive my english as is not my first language!

The first entry I'ved made are a sort of conferences from the Universidad de Granada about history of flamenco, cante, guitarra, baile...Plenty of information and some videos explaining structure of palos, etc.
Even though the blog is intended to be written in english and spanish, the videos are obviously in spanish.
If you have any questions please do ask.
I really hope you will find this usefull and amusing.

cheers to everybody!

Looks good. The challenge with a blog (like a diary) is keeping it going. If you do, you will reap your own rewards.

Estevan -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 1 2012 20:34:29)

¡Enhorabuena Pingaloka! I'm interested - thanks for telling us.

ArtZumer -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 1 2012 20:49:52)

Nice one Pingaloka - Although your English may not be perfect, I like the way you write and it is all legible. Also it gives me a good place to practice my Spanish reading skills! Good luck with blog and keep it going!

Pingaloka -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 1 2012 21:26:09)

Thanx a lot for your interest!

El Kiko -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 1 2012 21:33:49)

Cojonudo..

Anders Eliasson -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 8:27:39)

Guay. Lo he añadido a mis favoritos.
Es mucho trabajo escribir un blog en dos idiomas. Ánimo y suerte

Pingaloka -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 8:53:59)

Muchas gracias Anders. Es mucho trabajo, pero la peña lo va a agradecer, sobretodo los que no hablen español y quieran adentrarse en el mundillo.
saludos!

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 9:11:52)

olé to you! i've favorited this as well!

Haydn -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 10:48:43)

Great blog, mate! Not only an insight into flamenco in Granada, but also, as Artzumer said "...a good place to practise my Spanish reading skills!". I'll definitely be back for the next installment. How often are you planning to update it?

Pingaloka -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 12:36:00)

Thanx Haydn, well I would love to have it updated each week or so, it depends on time and also on what it is going on around the city.
I'm also planning on putting some small guitar tutorials. I know that there are plenty of them, and I'm an "aficionado" not profesional, but nevertheless you can always give a personal touch to your videos. I would love to share flamenco from a popular (as in "popularis" from people), point of view, not only academically speaking.

Doitsujin -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 12:42:03)

Why don´t you just post your stuff in this blog here?

orsonw -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 13:05:08)

Good work, Pingaloka!

kudo -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 15:27:18)

awesome!! thanks for doing this man!

Ricardo -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 15:32:35)

Cool. Just not into blogs as they tend to be self serving of the writer....although since you are in granada could be very interesting. My blog would not be as interesting.

"took kid to school, checked foro, checked facebook, 1 new friend, changed baby, pick up kid from school, changed baby, took a nap, changed baby, off to gig.............had a juerga last night too much drink, need sleep because I soon have to...." (repeat)

[:D]

geert1957 -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 2 2012 15:58:11)

Sounds good. I am going to Granada (and Cordoba) for a 10-day stay next March, so I hope to find useful information here.
Un saludo, Geert.

Pingaloka -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Feb. 6 2012 19:44:09)

Pingaloka -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Mar. 13 2012 21:40:12)

Hello guys, long time I didn't update the Blog. My fault, been busy.
This time we have a flamenco-fusion group called Del Alma.
Not flamenco jondo, but a very good flamenkish aproach.
The group has very talented musicians IMO.
If you want to find out, watch the videos!

I will keep updating as I have new interesting material comming up.
Some informative material for anybody interested on taking lessons here in Granada that I recon will be helpful.
+ I added a banner of Foroflamenco in the Blog

cheers!

Sorry to hear about this. I must admit I am surprised someone born into a legendary family like that would still have problems getting students.

I might be around Granada later this summer and maybe I will give his classes a try.

Pingaloka -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (Mar. 21 2012 10:48:50)

Just as surprised as you Munin! difficult times here in Spain.

changue -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (May 16 2012 18:48:41)

Rafalin is a great guy and an outstanding player the stuff he comes out with...
unbelievable - clearly drawing on his heritage but filled with his own ideas
and personality.
I've been here, in Granada for the past few days and I've been lucky enough to benefit
from some private tuition. It really has been superb and it will
no doubt take some time to fully digest what I've learned.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with Rafalin if you're at all tempted
by some time in Granada. Highly recommended.

Many thanks
to pingaloka for the original post.

Changue

Pingaloka -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (May 29 2012 21:11:21)

Thanx to you changue for your time.

NEW UPDATE!!. I know times has passed since last updated. Sorry for that.
I'll try to bring as much new material as into the Blog.
Greetings my flamenco friends!

bursche -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (May 29 2012 21:25:56)

Nano is now "el Azuquítar"? Give me a break, do the folks really call him that way now??

Munin -> RE: New Flamenco Blog (May 29 2012 21:30:55)

Awesome to hear that Nano is making a name for himself, I met him very briefly in 2010 and even though he was just jamming around I was immediately impressed by his playing.
