rombsix -> RE: Random YT video (Jan. 26 2012 18:33:41)

Man, I was on the pucking floor! (replace P with F)

[:D]

Those rasgueados were KILLER!

XXX -> RE: Random YT video (Jan. 26 2012 18:36:43)

yes it was really the rasgeados, i couldnt get my head around on how he does them? could it be just i up, i down? or m.

I guess you have to drink LOTS of coffee, and then just do a regular rasgueado. This is what you would get. [:D]

Richard Jernigan -> RE: Random YT video (Jan. 26 2012 22:32:44)

Doing a little start/stop on the video, it looks like i and m both hit the strings, but I don't see a doing anything but wiggling. If a is hitting the strings, I haven't caught a frame where it does during the few seconds I've played with the video. Can anyone else see a hitting the strings?

The first short rasqueado finishes with a p upstroke.

Grisha -> RE: Random YT video (Jan. 27 2012 0:15:35)

I think it's i up and m,i down... at million notes per second.

Munin -> RE: Random YT video (Jan. 27 2012 2:10:40)

I mean this is obviously all very messy and he's clearly a...beginner? But the one at :42 sounds pretty clean to me and it's hella fast. I am confused.

kudo -> RE: Random YT video (Jan. 27 2012 2:48:07)

im not confused, I have seen classical guitarists do this TYPE of rasguedo, he seems to be a beginner to flamenco coming in with a classical guitar background or was very into that part of classical guitar and thought he could play tarantas

Definitely not a classical guitarist. Notice how he plays the lines with the thumb. A conservatory trained player would do those with i-m.

Regardless of his background, he's got a real nice feel. He makes it sound like a real tune rather then a JM study.

neglect the rasguedos, and its the a greasy version of our good old greasy friend JM to me [:D][:D]
