I am quite sure Jason does not want, and certainly does not need to come back. There is a real world out there people. This is a small microcosm of the flamenco world - and without any Spaniards!

Waldo:
This Foro is a great source of information to it's members. The multicultural background found here is unlike other venues. I am sure that "Spaniards" could contribute, but by no means the lack of their input diminishes the value of what we have here.

As per Jason not wanting to be part of our own small microcosm, I can only say that he provided excellent information and his educational videos that he posted here were informative.

I can only wish him the best, I miss his talent and off topic comments.

spaniards can't play flamenco guitar as well as many people from outside.
they don't even like flamenco.
the spaniards like david bisbal, shakira, jorge drexler, rumba catalana, sevillanas y zambombas

The last three messages in this discussion have been made by a German, an Arab and a Texan. Go out and seek real flamenco, don't be so inward looking. My point has been made. There is nothing wrong with being a non-spaniard struggling with the noble art, but you have to accept that this website, and all it contains is not the real deal. A nice place for non indigineous aficianados to chat, but please......

Oh excuse me. There was a point in those 6 one-liners you wrote on this forum?

Hey Walter,

Thanks so much for the input. I just reviewed your contributions on the foro, and it appears to me that you have brought up this point already:

http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=173282&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=&tmode=&smode=&s=#173282

Why not try to revive the above thread, and maybe you'll get better feedback than what was provided last time?

Cheers!

PS: Who you callin' Arab? [8D]

So, to speak the truth is wrong? I am a troll? No. You need to rein yourselves in a bit, you are not at the cutting edge of flamenco! You are a slightly dotty mish mash of cultures that have a common interest in flamenca. I don't see a problem with that, but like most internet huddles, you are on the outside looking in... sorry if that offends...

this is not true. flamenco is like any other music. if you dig in it and invest time to practice you will become good at it, if you are spanish or non spanish. there is no mystery about that. flamenco here in spain is really being held together by people from outside of spain.
the people in this foro might know more about flamenco than flamencos from lebrija. because they spend time investigating

the other day i was explaining to a student of paco taranto about modes and to sing in major and phrygian. and paco went: "frigio? eso nos es flamenco. eso no" [:D]

Who said that they are not seeking REAL Flamenco in real life?! is it because we post here? Actually.. why did you join this foro in the first place?!! WE exchange info and we are gathered around a common passion which is flamenco. This doesn't mean we are hopeless or lusting for learning the art and the only source is the foro!! Besides.. Jason is a marvlous artist and posting a thread on his favor means that we care a lot and we miss him among us virtually. So there is no need for GIVING ADVICES to people you don't know anything about. May be they travel to spain heaps during the year no matter what was their nationalities '' Flights are not that expensive[8D]''

The last poster but one has a point, But analyzing clips of bulerias at 300bpm and commenting thereupon is not flamenco. switch your computers off, go and play. NOT to each other!! Go to Spain!

Just come down dude and forget the IMPARATIVE! i don't need to tell you what i do in my personal life just to prove anything but here's a hint just to be understood. I live in Milan, my teacher is a spanish from Jerez, there is a dancing school and guess the origins of the owner? he is from…'' JEREZ.. the teachers are ..SPANISH.. so, Spain just came to me. The situation is quite similar in Europe, America, and the whole world . FLAMENCO IS EVERYWHERE.

Just take it easy and try not to attack any. there is no point.. and for the record, it's a free world, as long as nobody else is paying my bills and taxes, my Mac will remain switched on as much as i want..

kudo -> RE: Would you like to have Jason McGuire back on foroflamenco? (Jan. 29 2012 21:00:06)

I heard someone calling me here, so here I am:
Waldo it sounds like you haven't been to spain yourself and haven't studied flamenco well enough or talked with professional Spanish flamencos to truly understand the situation. To me it sounds like you think that all spaniards breathe and fart flamenco as if spaniards were born with compas during labor, knowing flamenco inside out. So according to you, we are not real flamencos and one should kiss a spaniards butt even if they dont know ****. I have seen ****ty flamenco in Spain on YouTube.
So the question is why are you here? Hunting for a Spanish ass to kiss so that you can Learn authentic flamenco?
Sorry but I think you can't even play flamenco , you might want to be a fakemenco

So mister knowing everything. ¿where are you from? ¿Where do you live? ¿What is the cutting edge of flamenco? etc.
I´ve been here (Andalucia) for almost 11 years now and I havent found the cutting edge and dont know what it is, so please tell me what it is and come out of your hideaway and tell us who you are.
Right now it smells like troll and thats it.

guys, could we get this flame war rollin' please? Post faster, think less. Because in one hour im going to bed and i want to see all the action before sleeping.
And waldo, could you please invent new insults? It will help members to get something to flame on you, plus it makes it less boring because of that "yeah we heard that already...*yawn*"-feeling.
Thank you.
