What do you think is the highest soundboard doming that you'd recommend on a flamenco guitar?

I'm working on a solera right now and figure that I can build without either a neck pitch or a fingerboard taper (7mm fingerboard) if I use a 5mm dome. This gives an 8mm string height at the bridge and a 2.5mm action on the high e. Is 5mm too high? Will the bridge be able to hold that in place if properly shaped, or is it likely to sink if the fans are just pressed in?

(Seems high to me, but I've never tried.)

The higher the dome the farther it will need to extend and 5mm is a lot so probably full length which will requiring shaping of the underside of the fingerboard anyway.

In my way of building, 5mm is a very high dome. I brace flat and end up with around 2mm. I dont personally like guitars with high domes. I find them to be slow and stiff. Also, calculated setups often come out diferently than the calculations.

Thanks.

The 5mm thought was prompted by an over-exuberant carving of the solera - I was carving down to the wrong lamination. It sounds like it's time for some bondo.
