Isnt that like a german or austrian brand or something?

i remember doing some repair or maintenance work on a klira 12 string guitar a loong time ago

I cant tell you anything unfortunatly, but i believe it's from eastern europe, not completely sure though.

yes german, stringed instrument maker since 1887, started making guitars in the 1950s. closed down in the 1980s

thats about all i can find

gonna dust the thing and restring it and play it a bit..may post some pics somehwhere.

I am not even sure if i remember correctly but i think ive heard that the quality can vary widely, though there might just be different "ranks" of good like many brands have too.

I dont know anything for sure though.

If it sounds good and stuff, maybe you cann have a luthier look at it a bit for you as well[:)]
to do setups or maybe even a price estimation

Klira was during the cold war an east german made tank with strings on.

which qualities of the tank are you suggesting these guitars have anders??

strongly built and durable? cold and ugly looking? ...the tank was once at the pinnacle of modern military tech...so... were these guitars the same?

i think i know what youre getting at really[;)]

The only KLira, I´ve played was a 12 steel string. It was heavy with a bolt on neck. Volume low but good playability which is essential on 12 strings.
