Do your right hand and left hand feel different from each other? When I make a fist with my right hand, there's a certain sensation of tightness in the fingers. I wonder if it's some kind of inflammation, or just because the musculature is different. When I close the left hand, it feels a lot more free, a lot lighter.

I have it visa versa, I have heard it is normal to have different feelings in the hands when you play guitar. ( BTW I am right handed)

Well, my hands feel the same when I make a fist, so I bash with both[8|]. Maybe because I work with my hands or maybe because I'm not very right handed or footet (English?) I used to play football and I think I scored more with my lefty

My right hand feels a little different when i make a fist.

But its not a stiffness or soreness. Just feels different.

I consider myself very lucky to not have had any hand issues.

I've been beating the crap out of them for 20 years. :)

Amazing what they can endure. Knock on wood.[8D]

Its sound funny but I had a theme like that in genetic.
When you fold your hand like starting to pray or so. I mean you cross all your fingers.
One of you thums is on the top. And its allways the same one. It feels better in one off both ways of holding the hands.
For this "better" feeling exists a gene. For left and right handed, too.
And there is a gene for streching of your thumb behind, too. People who have it, can strech the thumb back without streching-training. People who dont have it, have to train it.

Thomas Whiteley -> RE: Right and Left hand Test (May 8 2005 20:11:38)

We were trained by Catholic Nuns. While praying place the palms of both hands together, with the left thumb over the top of the right hand.. Cross the right thumb on top of the left thumb. Point the fingers straight up – otherwise God will not hear our prayers!

Well, I cannot tell the difference. I have been conditioned for too many years.

Oh yes – not to forget if you are left handed in our Catholic School. The Nun would hit your left hand with a ruler while you were attempting to write and tell you, “The left hand is the hand of the devil”! My friend Carol Harney was left handed and got hit from Kindergarten until finishing Catholic School.

Too much training is not always a good thing! [:D]

Same here, my right is stiffer and a little painful compared to the left.

Miguel de Maria -> RE: Right and Left hand Test (May 8 2005 23:37:22)

It's weird. I suppose the right hand needs more musculature or whatever is in there to do its job.

Doitsujin -> RE: Right and Left hand Test (May 9 2005 16:09:33)

hmm. dont know.. My right hand never hurts when I play some hours.. But the left does.
And Im lefty, too. My left is stronger.
