n85ae -> Chords for Eb Phrygian (Oct. 17 2011 21:50:26)

Hi -

I made the mistake of learning a couple Falseta's in Eb Phrygian from
some La Sonanta video's on youtube. Now I'm curious if anybody know's
any chords/progressions that work in that Key? For Compas, etc. I could
sit down and work out some chords the hard way, but probably easier to
just post here.

Thanks!
Jeff

Abmin, Gb7(sus4), E7(#11), Eb7(b9)

Relative major scale is B Major

Bmaj,C#min,D#min,Emaj,F#7, G#min,A#dim

AH, ok I got it now. It's just a chunk out of BMaj, so I can just shift my white keys
down the neck a half step , with my flamenco "odd notes" tossed in and basically
voila I'm where I need to be.

I really hate having to think about it, but it does help on occasion when I do.

Thanks for the clue! I'd still like to know if anybody has any cool flamenco chords
for this key though.

Regards,
Jeff

Bingo....

regardless of the tonic note (Eb in this case)

you find the relative major and take it from there.... relative major is down 2 whole steps.

Eb phryg = B major
E phryg = C major
A phryg = F major
Db phryg = A major
B phryg = G major

here are some cool chords for Eb

Fred, it's me Dennis in NC. That is really cool and helpful, thanks.
Any way you might consider continuing with cool chords in E phrygian...
Thanks.
I hope to see you soon.

Thanks! Perfect. Some real finger stretchers there, but nothing impossible.

Best Regards,
Jeff
