This was so much fun to make and sounds killer... I'm diving into a book of Django solos now [:)]

looks great Andy!

man where do you find the inspiration to build so fast?? I'm always struggling to get some work done.

Andy Culpepper -> RE: Gypsy jazz guitar (Oct. 16 2011 16:47:24)

Thanks Gimar,
This is all I do all day.. I don't have another job. I am pretty fast and organized in the shop. This guitar took about a month and a half from start to finish, but I can get a flamenco built and ready for finish in about 10-12 days now.

So from day zero to the day the buyer can pick it up, what's your fastest achievable time so far?

guitarbuilding is all I do for a living aswell, but things are way to slow here to feel motivated, lots of potential customers but no money lol.

I've build electric guitars in less than 5 days (without painting ofcourse).

Still over a month. The entire finishing process including sitting around to harden up is about 12 hours over 2-3 weeks (during which I can build another one [:)])

Gimar, yeah it's been a bit slow here too but I keep on building anyway [:D] And orders are starting to pick up now for me.

So are you going to start practicing playing with a pick now? Beware as that might be a slipper slope (as you might end up becoming the next ToddK). I like how near the end you had to return to your flamenco roots and do a solea-like progression with an E phrygian chord to sum up. [:D]

No way Ramzi! He is going to "accidentally" burn 2 of his left hand fingers. I hear he has got them insured to... Andy knows business..

Haha. I will wait for the bandsaw to take care of that... for now I need as many fingers as possible.
I'm crappy with a pick right now but I'm starting to relearn... it's been many years. Don't worry, no pickmenco for me.

Pgh_flamenco -> RE: Gypsy jazz guitar (Oct. 18 2011 0:48:08)

It looks and sounds good. Was the vid made before you applied the finish?

Andy Culpepper -> RE: Gypsy jazz guitar (Oct. 19 2011 12:26:51)

Thanks pgh, yes the video was made before finish.

This has nothing to do with Gypsy jazz guitar; please stay on topic.

Nor is there any point in posting your request twice in a row, as you have done (twice). It will make other members less inclined to give you your tab, not more.
