Your new asking price is the same as your old asking price???

Ramon Amira -> RE: 1963 Ramirez Spruce top flamenco (Nov. 30 2011 22:24:36)

Hey - if no one buys it you should have a sale and cut the price to $4000.

Wow! What's up with all of the good Ramirez guitars coming up for sale lately? I bought a 61 last week. A friend called me up and said that someone was trying to sell it to Guitar Center and that they were trying to take the seller for a ride. No surprise there, at GC here they can't even string a flamenco, and call the tap a pick guard... Never the less I told him to get the guys number and that I would like a shot at putting in an offer. After all was said and done it turned out that it was some 25 year old guy with no interest in flamenco, and he wanted to just get rid of the guitar. He said that it was left to him by his grandfather... It seemed like a sin for him to sell it if you ask me, but it didn't seem like a sin to buy it. I had been holding off and was thinking of ordering another Paracho guitar, a Castillo or Navarro, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to own a good historic guitar. This one has some dings but is good over all. I had to beg my wife, but I got it. If you ask me $4000 is a great price for this guitar, and if I could beg the wife again, I would love to get it... Don't know how likely that will be though. Guitar Solo had a 73 a few months ago and the condition was near perfect and the price was $7500 as I recall. Guitar Salon also had a 1960 with some cracks and they were asking $3500 for that one. With the condition of this guitar I would say $4000 is way more than reasonable... She'll find a good home, that's a sure bet. I have played a few Ramirez duds from the 70s, but everything I have seen from the 60s were great and powerful. Of course you can't go by me though, I have only played 5 or so which were made in the 60s.

I still want an old cedar top Ramirez and will get one when I'm able too. Something about these I really love and I do see them pop up from time to time. Some really beat up and some very clean.

I too think $4000 is a good price and although it's a spruce top, I'd snatch it up now if I could.

Hi, is the Ramirez still for sale? What's the scale length? Where are you located for pick-up? I'm in Southern California. Thanks in advance...

El Polaco -> RE: 1963 Ramirez Spruce top flamenco (Feb. 16 2012 11:41:44)

Ethan,
I have a 63 Ramirez exactly the same as this one also made by Manuel Malo. I am leaving for San Diego today. I could bring it or check out the photos on my website. www.vivoflamenco.com/guitars.html - I have 12 other flamenco guitars available for sale with photos and specs etc.
Let me know as soon as you can. I leave in 5 hours. :)
Jorge.

Seerious guitar porn on this page! I'd love to have both a cedar and a spruce-top Ramírez - spruce is still missing - I'd buy it. Problem is that I am in Germany ...
