Hey, i try a Falseta in A minor by Jose Luis Montón and i want to play it in a "normal" bulerías (por medio) at the end, but i don't know how can i do the key change from por medio to A minor.
Have you got some ideas for that?

Sorry, can anyone put this Topic in "General"? I think "Tabs" is the wrong thing for that.

More generally, you can establish any major or minor key by playing its dominant 7th, e.g. E7->A or A minor. The transition will sound more or less brutal depending how far the target key is from the one you’re in.

A good example is Montoya’s Guajira, in which he does this to get from A to C and back again.

some ideas.....
A > E7 > Am
A > F7 > E7 > Am
A > Dm > C > E7 > Am
A > Dm > C > C7 > (F7) > E7 > Am

Strange this should come up I was just looking at an old style bulerias that does just this and I see it is very similar to what you put Ramzi ,
It has the A7 bit then Dmin , ..G7....Cmaj....Bminb5.....F7 ...E7....Amin...E7 etc..

I was just trying to put up a sound clip but i see a can't in this part of the forum , never mind I think you know the idea

Ramzi i have a little question:
when do you do the first change to E7? after the B? on 12?

I start playing E7 on 10, but you can also play six beats of B, and then move to E7 on 6 and it should work too.

Cheers!

Okay thanks.
Do you play it like this?:
A7 1
Dm 10
G7 1
C 6
B 10
E7 10
Am 12

i'm not sure.

rombsix -> RE: How to change in A menor Bulería (from por medio) (Oct. 3 2011 12:06:38)

C on beat 10, B on beat 1, and E7 on beat 10. Then Am on beat 12. The previous chords you mentioned were played on the beats you mentioned, so those are fine.

Cheers!

PS: You don't need to do it 100% like me. Mine is just a single way...

Thats it! Thank you!

Not sure if this thread is still alive. But if so, how do you go from C# bulerias to A major?

At Paco's concert he did that. He modulated from Soniquete falseta to Almoraima falseta.

Thanks

To go from key of A phyrigian or A major to Aminor, you only need E7 but the b9 helps.

To go back to key of Aphrygian one only needs to hear the Bb before A major. Bb7 helps a little, as does hearing the #11. But simply play Bb chord to A maj and you are fine to continue in phrygian.

Paco goes from A minor to A phyrgian just via Aminor to A major chord. Later A major goes to D-C#.. NOtice that is the same deal as Bb->A. So at the end of C# he goes up to E7....and again the simple E7b9 pulls the whole thing to Aminor.

In flamenco one can simply jump between keys via single chords, there need not be some exravagant progression.

So it makes sense to play a falseta from Cepa Andaluza, then play one or two coplas in A major, and then play a falseta from Soniquete?

Sorry if I'm confusing terms here.

no problem though you need to get to c# from A maj via D

Excellent, thanks. Not that I'm in any way near easily moving from Soniquete falseta to Cepa falseta bit it's good to know it's doable. :-)
