Can't play it like that evertime though...have to get psyched up to it! LOL!
I've totally taken a 180 since that.
I'm trying to acquire a looser, dirtier sound now!
I'll try and post something soon to let you hear what I mean.

The truth is I am still working on the Soleares after a year! I want it to be a Solea, no just sound like one. I was moving on to the Tangos but the Solea is perfect for me and I keep going back to it. Am I so wrong?

reading your post, I remember a little story.

There was a guy, that wanted to enter the conservatory to study with Paco Pena.
You have to do a examination then for a kind of jury.
The guy had learned only a soleares, but did it with so much perfection, they let him in!

So, knowing this, are you doing wrong?

don't think so!

BTW, the mother of flamenco, is called soleares, so if you manage this one...

Hi Simon,
Solea is the berries and I think I know how you feel.
I think you should pull in the Tangos as well, it will take you onto a different set of chords and involve some different right hand technique and all of that has to be good. Who knows, you might be able to re-introduce the new material back the way, into your Solea.

I'll have another go this afternoon Jim. Just find the Solea the perfect style to play to myself, though Habechuela's Rondena, Canta la Guitarra on his En Rama CD, has some beautiful sounds.

London Guitar Studio, phone in your details and you'll have it the next day if in stock, or try Danny of Stockport, he'll probably have it in stock.
It's one of the Encuentro series, very demanding copncert pieces but it's good to dip in and out to pick up bits here and there. Im sure you would enjoy Pepe's Solea.
