Wow, wouldnt it be too much of a contrast in terms of tension? 820b trebles are very loose and Luthier 35 basses are quite stiff..

Aren't you the looser that recently lost everything including your guitars? Are you the one that have posted many posts lately making fun of foro members for being lowballers while you got Dimitri's Green (my current guitar) then returned it with some lame excuse for not buying it? Aren't you the one that Dimitri gave you the guitar only asking not to ding it and of course the only thing you did was to ding it. Aren't you the one that supposedly left the forum? What the heck are you doing back besides spilling venom from your dumbfuck brain and heart?

So if this Atocha is such an "amazing" guitar why has it changed hands so frequently??

Just another thing that makes you go hmmm ...

Hi Ilia,

Do you have any suggestions? I only use RC FL60s cause they are the only ones where I could notice a small difference in terms of sound and playability. If you do a search I think you will get a bunch of posts where Ricardo talks about his preferred strings for Condes. I think he has mentioned this combo for a long neck as this one is (660).

Cheers
Dino

D.,

Excellent response. Nealf has spewed this kind of negativity on this forum for years. He couldn't sell his precious Barba and whined about the "tire kickers" on the foro- how many times had that Barba changed hands?. You sell your Conde (which I can attest to being an excellent Conde) and he has to make an asinine comment. He sold all of his stuff and said he was giving up flamenco, yet still comes on the board and continues to be an jerk. He really is getting to be pathetic.

So me bringing attention to the fact that a guitar that passes through 5 sets of hands in less than 3 years - Cesar, H. Lynch, Don, El Greco and now the new lucky owner is making an "asinine comment". "Amazing" guitars do not go through that many hands that quickly, the fact that you re-sold it to buy another guitar is the "proof in the pudding" as to how amazing it was .... period .... end of story. I am sure it will be for sale within the year to yet another lucky owner. [8|]

I will answer only for the benefit of the forum and the new owner who is RichardF. Cesar never owned this guitar from what I know, Don bought it from Mariano Cordoba who had it for 6 years but his health deteriorated so he sold all of his concert guitars. Don got it for a recording because that is what good Condes are great for. Harry is buying and selling dozen of guitars every year including this Conde. I seriously doubt any of his guitars are bad. I was an amateur that wanted a Conde and now that I am a little more experienced, I know that the ideal neck length for me is 655. I am also in a position to be buying better and more expensive guitars now and there are always better and more expensive guitars no matter what you have. People that can get something better from what they have, do so. Next year maybe you will find my Green for sale as well, cause I may decide to get something even better (for me). One thing I promise you. If the Conde goes for sale in a year, it will find a buyer in less than a week once again because IT IS AN AMAZING GUITAR.

malakka - the lowballer comments hurt you because you were one of them. Telling me you were "interested" in the Barba and asking for all kinds of pics, videos etc getting my hopes up real high when I was desparate and then screwing with me and making me a lowball offer. Yes I'm a jerk ... what does that make you ...

Yes Neal, I did contact you about your Barba and was interested and did ask a few questions and for pics. I appreciated you taking your time and told you so then. I never asked for videos and never made an offer because the price you were asking for it then was very fair. We had a total of two email exchanges and I politely backed away and expressed my best wishes to you in selling the guitar. I only decided to pass because it was too much money for me to raise and I was going to have to sell my guitar. The fact is I like my guitar and decided not to sell it and still feel the same. You are so full of it that it is actually quite funny. Also, I tried to sell my two guitars recently due to frustration with a persisting issue with my right hand. I had numerous emails asking questions (some ridiculous (imho) and not once did I complain and whine on the foro, just kept answering the questions and replying to offers. I removed the ads at some point and have decided to sell one guitar in a different way. Furthermore, I did not snipe at others trying to sell a guitar and stick my nose in their business.

Is any guitar "AMAZING"? Maybe, and perhaps different guitars are different things to other people. I have tried numerous Condes from folks I know (old and newer) and this Conde stands out to me. You and I and others are entitled to our opinions, but do we need to trash others, I think not. Best of luck to you and I hope you can play flamenco again.

richardf -> RE: Conde Hermanos Primera Blanca 2000 (Oct. 7 2011 8:00:19)

Hi nealf,
I have no reason to doubt the Conde is a very good guitar. Of course, I have paid and so I would expect to be influenced by that. I will make my own mind up with time. I took opinion from several people I know, all of whom I have no reason to doubt, and all who told me Condes are very desirable. Maybe caveat emptor is in order, but I try to retain the belief that most people are good, honest and fair. How much is something worth? Whatever someone is prepared to pay for it, I guess. Could elgreco have held out for a higher price? Probably, if he had wanted to. Could I have found a cheaper Conde? Probably, if I had looked around. But I think both seller and buyer consider it a fair exchange and trusted each other.

That's worth a lot more to me because it confirms my faith in humanity.

Let it go. Life's too short and bitterness is a worm in the heart.

I was just wondering, did not notice it has a longer scale, which makes sense for using 820b's, but Luthier 35 would be an overkill IMO unless you are trying to make it sound louder.. I use La Bella 2001 MT or Luthier 20 sets on 650mm Conde with just under 3mm action on the 12th fret.
