henrym3483 -> Guía de la Guitarra Flamenca, David Leiva (Sep. 3 2011 13:23:41)

got this aswell in the post last week,

great compact guide to flamenco theory it covers the most common major minor, diminshed and aug chords used in flamenco, chords progs and scales, turnarounds etc.
has given me alot of food for thought.
it also covers stuff in altered tunings for flamenco ie rondena etc. well worth the money.

Hi Henry,
I picked up the "500 Flamenco Chords" book a while back (I believe based on your recommendation).

What does this new book have to offer that the "500 flamenco chords book" lacks??

thanks.

dont think i recommended that book, but actually have it. 500 flamenco chords by martinez is not that good compared to david leivia one. one thing would have preferred with leiva's book is to be in a bigger format. its half the size of the A4 format.

leivas book has 1500 chords and more than 100 progs usually 5-10 for each palo and gives more ideas with leading chords and resolution.
