Argaith -> Question for techies perhaps! (Sep. 2 2011 14:16:09)

Dear all,

Do you know if it is possible at all to seperate the song from the music in a track (i.e cante from the guitar)?

The idea as you would have guessed is to have the cante to practice playing along with.

Thanks for your replies in advance.

try to find the program called transcribe, you should be able to find a demo version that lasts 30 days, or forever if you cheat by setting the computer clock back a few years after the 30 day trial expires but dont tell anyone that :-)

this program has a mono and phase setting, wich (depending on the way the song was mixed) can take away some elements from the song. Some times is does nothing, sometimes it takes away the drum tracks, or vocal tracks, sometimes it brings out guitar solos or the backing track, it realy depends on the original mix how it reacts.

its free so its worth try.. http://www.seventhstring.com/xscribe/download.html

Thanks Gimar. I have heard from other members of other useful features of Transcribe. I will try the trial version and if it is good, I might buy the full version.

Thanks a lot,

Before you spend too much time, there are tons of good examples in this thread of cante w/no guitar to practice.

Thanks a lot Ricardo, I will surely go through the thread and try to find what I am after.
