Am i the only one?

Im trying to play arpeggio... say
D string p
g string i

If im not very concentrated or in shap/warmed up, whatever, they seem to hinder themselve and i get a very inconsistent sound and rhythm. I could increase the distance between fingers by bending out the thumb but that decreases the sound a quality a little...

Hi Deniz, could you show a little example (tab or something) to show what you want to play?

Im guessing you want to do it several times, correct?

I think it will depend on the speed you want to play it:

if you want to do it slow or at normal speed, i don't think you should bend out the thumb. Instead, try to have a little more separation between your P and I finger (thumb toward the sound hole and index toward the bridge). More or less half an inch.

On the other hand, if you want to do it with a major speed, I would not recommend you to do it with thumb and index movement, but mainly with a minimal and controled wrist movement. Contrary to what I mentioned above, this time your thumb and index should be almost above each other, without the horizontal separation. Both fingers should be perpendicular to the top of your guitar.

Thats sounds interesting but no i didnt get what you mean [:D] you lost me that both fingers perpendicular thing...
I'll make a video as soon as i get home. I just mean pimami arpeggio, but when the p and i are on strings that are next to each other.

Question, when you play something like this pimami, do your p and i touch each other when you do it fast?

I looked at my fingers and yes I noticed a minimal contact between my thumb and index. Is almost nothing because it never pushes my index away.

Are you resting your thumb in the string below??? if you want to execute it fast try not to do it because the thumb would need to rest on the string that your index is about to pull.

Yes, as mentioned it is light touch for me the joint of the thumb touches the side of the index and and they slide across each other like you are sprinkling a pinch of salt.

Here you see me do it from side angle at 0:19 and again at 0:53
