ORIGINAL: Alonte Flamenco experts, how would you describe the main characteristics that differentiate: Fandangos De Huelva vs. Fandangos De Alosno? "de huelva" is a general term, de Alosno is just one specific fandango melody from huelva. There are literally tons of different kinds of fandangos from huelva, all could have there own specific name. When doing a mix, "de huelva" covers all. now flamencos have interpreted fandango their own way, often with free or no, or stretched, compas. Specific ones are personal style, so can have the guys name that does it. like "fandango de gloria" (there was a guy from jerez named "NiƱo de Gloria that invented that melody),or "fandango de cepero" or de sevillano, de Caracol etc....again if a mix of styles is done, the catch all term "fandango naturales" is used. Also, gitanos like to refer to this as "fandango grande". On my new CD I chose to call Jesus's mix of styles "fandangos naturales" but one could also say "fandangos grande" or "fandango personales" or simply "fandangos". My guitar solo on the other hand has the typical compas style you could if one were to accompany a style from Huelva. Hope that helps. Ricardo
