MarTay6 -> Setting a neck angle (Aug. 8 2011 12:33:13)

In constructing a Flamenco Guitar, I know that the neck is shimmed upward a small amount on the building board to put yourself in the ballpark for setting the action of the guitar. I understand the criticality of this step, as it is the basis for the playability of the guitar. How do you determine how much to shim the neck- and if you shim the neck, that is going to create an angle between the neck blank and the soundboard. Is the part of the neck common with the soundboard sanded at that angle so it glues to the soundboard flat? I don't quite understand this relationship. Any help explaining- or a picture or sketch would be very helpful, as I'm very much a visual learner! Thanks! Wes
