And he's not really trying....

(I'm pretty sure these are Ramon falsetas originally and exchanged between the two brothers.)

cheers,

Ron

Weird..

I was just talking about how Ramon is one of the players i respect the most, I guess more than paco, for some reason I dont know..

But he is a real master, and he speaks my language.

Is there a full video that isnt cut off?

One thing I love about Camaron is that he was not a Flamenco snob.

Here's a wee scene with Moraito and friends.

He just loved singing...and guitarists loved playing for him 'cos they knew he was the genuine thing..

He was an earthy poor boy and never really lost it despite the success.

(Could probably play some guitarists here under the table too!)

(He definitely knows how to accompany cante anyway! [;)][:D]

cheers,

Ron

Hoho Ramon was a seasoned viking[8D]

No i think his playing is speaking to me in a way, maybe like you and the Kings?

I also like Diego Carrasco alot.. Different story though[:D]

To Ron:

I really like those vids, I think it is nice with more earthy Flamenco, but i like that there is kind of more stories in Flamenco now, the one you go and watch on stage and the one where you sit there and are taking part in, I hope you know what i mean[;)]

Lately ive been looking at buying Camaron cd's but they cost like 50 euros here for some reason[&:]

Andy Culpepper -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 25 2011 23:21:40)

For me it's this [;)]

100% perfect

kudo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 26 2011 0:33:48)

Moraito is the one I like the most, because he has the same taste that I have [:)] . he looks like a nice funny guy too. I know at least that he is very sarcastic in his bulerias. I would love to meet him some day and take lessons with him.

3:23-4:05 LOL!! LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!

kudo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 26 2011 3:14:16)

the Best Alegrias and the MOST UNIQUE one I have heard is Paco Fernandez's :

You can buy the 21 CD boxed Cameron set for just over 100 euros now in Spain.
I found it here for 130 Euros on German Amazon.

Ramon was a monster player in his day. He did a lot of duet with Marote as well which was fantastic. If it hadnt been for Paco he would probably have been one of the best known players in Spain. Anecdotelly I was told that Paco himself said that the material on the first 2 albums was based on exercises and pieces that he learned from his brothers.

Doitsujin -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 26 2011 10:33:10)

hmm.. I think I can´t answer that question. Coz its all about feelings.

But the title is wisely chosen coz it asks for everyones personal taste.

I think in my case the price would go to many people.

odinz -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 26 2011 14:22:53)

That price is alot better, Ill look in spain first i guess, then look at the deal in the link, i feel bad using youtube to listen to artists and not buying as well, Thanks for that too Pim[:D]

Ramon also supported his little brother alot right? That too is admireable, too me atleast. Sometimes he feels like the forgotten one in a way.
But I guess it isnt totally wrong of me to see Ramon as very very important figure In Flamenco today then[:D]

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 26 2011 19:39:57)

just the other day i was listening to Ramón accompanying Camarón, while i have respect for the guy, i hated the fact that he didn't let the cante breath even a little, like he had the urge to play into everything, just couldn't stop...he annoyed me a lot...

Waldo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 26 2011 19:43:07)

Yep, these are the boys.

Yojimbo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 27 2011 11:56:05)

I can't stand those flamenco singers. Gives me a headache and ruins the guitar playing.

Yeah, I'm a philistine.

You're probably dead to most foro members now. I like Jesse Cook and the Gipsy Kings (and the guitarist whose name is NEVER to be uttered, whose style is somewhat similar to the above-mentioned two artists), so I guess I'm condemnation-worthy as well... [8D][:D]

you are a philistine? i guess you mean from palestine? well guess what, im not surprised, why? because you are used to hearing the "sweet voice" of arabic singers whose lyrics are completely BS & crap (should i mention the famous stupid song "ba ba fein, ba ba heina" which translates to " where is daddy?, daddy is here" just look how stupid this is, and yet arabs went crazy about it and loved it)

Kudo, walaw ya zalamé? Rawwe2 belak shway! I was just joking about the "dead to members" part! [:D]

Philistine is defined as follows: a person who is lacking in or hostile or smugly indifferent to cultural values, intellectual pursuits, aesthetic refinement, etc., or is contentedly commonplace in ideas and tastes.

It has nothing to do with being from Palestine, or an Arab. Yojimbo is from Toronta, Canada, and I think he does NOT even speak Arabic! [:D]

I understand you're a passionate flamenco lover, Kudo, but you have to be more accepting of other people's views. State your own views of things, but not in a very combative way. Poor Yojimbo! He probably crapped his pants when he read your post! [8D]

I'll let you two kiss and make up now, while I go back to studying.

Cheers!

Elie -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 27 2011 16:52:08)

Kbeeer ya Ramzi !! [:D]

Ron.M -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 27 2011 19:49:45)

[:D][:D]

Yojimbo...

You know when you were a wee boy and liked ice cream and sweeties and cake and hated anything sour tasting?

Then you grow up a bit and try some Mexican or Indian food and think "well...it's not sweet, it's not sugar...but there's something about it I need more of....

cheers,

Ron

i cant stand guitar playing without singing...has no purpose or meaning...its just piss farting around self gratification, waiting for the singer to come in [:D]

ok...i exagerate

Ron.M -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 27 2011 20:56:00)

I also love Capullo with Diego Amaya too!

Capullo is, well.. just crazy, (but great) and Diego is one of the most tasteful gutarristas around. [:D]

cheers,

Ron

Yojimbo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 28 2011 0:13:12)

I've tried to develop a taste for it - but it just sounds like noise to me. Perhaps, as suggested earlier, my tastes will develop further as I "mature".

On the other hand, I bet I'm not alone.

kudo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 28 2011 0:58:38)

sorry amigo for the misunderstanding, I deleted my post, I dont know if you read it before I deleted it, but I hope not (fingers crossed)

Yojimbo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 28 2011 2:25:05)

Hi Kudo

I did manage to read it before you took it down. Not sure why you removed it though - I sure wasn't offended by it.

kudo -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 28 2011 3:03:52)

I just thought that maybe you were offended by it...

Michael1917 -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 28 2011 3:13:42)

That's very nice.

Issam -> RE: This is the most perfect Flamenco playing I've heard to date. (Jun. 28 2011 12:19:33)

Hi kudo,

I'm glad you deleted it!

because you wasn't being fair, i mean C'mon man! "baba fein" is a song for children, what do you expect?

I'm an Arab and i never liked that song.

its true that most of today's music and lyrics are crap! (and that's not just in the Arab world!)

but its not fair to say that ALL Arab singer's lyrics are "crap" don't you think? there are some great stuff.

and to be honest when i first listened to flamenco singing i didn't like it that much! (maybe a little)

BUT now when i listen to it... well, i can't really find the words to describe!.

Anyway, i don't think that's really your opinion about Arab singers you probably just said that while you were angry.

but seriously man, you should learn how to control yourself and be cool when someone say
something that you don't like, i mean what if someone said to your face that he doesn't like flamenco? i feel like you would stab him in the neck and burn his house! [8D] [:D]

This was a big hit in the UK. It was playing everywhere. You couldn't get away from it! Horrible! [:D][:D]

And another big hit!

Hold on till I get my puke bucket...[&:]

(Does anybody know where I can buy the boxed set of Eurovision CDs 1968-2011 in case I need to commit suicide? [:D][:D])

cheers,

Ron
