Peter Tsiorba -> RE: NARRA BACK AND SIDES? (Jun. 18 2011 1:01:43)

Some years back, I built three classical guitars with narra. The wood had a very nice tap tone, and worked reasonably well. It had a pleasant, sweet scent. The dust did not seem to be particularly irritating (to me, at least). The resins seemed to be quite stable and not prone to staining lighter spruce or bindings. It is fairly inexpensive. One of its drawbacks that I can think of and is its rather plain appearance. If you are not looking for a lot of figure, variegation and color, narra would be just fine. Here is a link to one of those guitars: https://picasaweb.google.com/guitarsbypeter/ClassicalGuitarNaraEngelmann13#
