Does anybody has this kind of feeling sometimes?
When you think: I really hate my guitar and I really hate the strings I'm using.

I have this so many times. But on the other hand sometimes (when the weather gets dry after raining and when the capo is at 1) I can also be quite pleased and por ejemplo rock on one bulerias for an hour.
I was wondering if this is common among guitarists or if I really need a new guitar maybe. And since I hardly know or speak to any other guitarists in my physical environment, I thought I'd share this with you and see if you can identify yourself in it

Cheers,

Ramón

I get that too. Now, more so than usually, because I have to study for an exam, so my brain is making me hate the guitar so I can "justify" why I should NOT be playing it and "wasting" my study time.

Not a very helpful response, but that's all I can muster for now. [8D]

Ramon, Mi amgio,

it always happend with the cheap guitars with high action and low tension strings ,[:'(]

when you first start to learn gutiar music, you cannot distinguish between steel and classical guitars, then when you improve you just make the gutiatrs in genreal categories: steel, classical ( spanish) and electric,

then as you improve you find out that there is a flamenco gutiar and classical gutiar,

also one more imporvemnt step, you found that there are blanca and negra and in each one there is student, semi profeesnal , professanl and concert gutiar, [:D][:D][:D][:D]

so when you reach that step, you start with rubbish flamenco student guitar, as your techniques improve and your understanding and needs for better gutiar, here where that feeling comes[:D][:D][:D]

i belive you should buy a new and good flamenco guitar,

this is the time for you

[:D][:D][:D][:D]

oleeeeeeeeeeeeeeee[;)]

Ramon, also that feeling apear if you try a concert gutiar, then you play on your rubbsih student gutiar and get shocked fromt he diffrence that a better gutiar is exsist....[:D][:D][:D]

just think of how your current guitar can teach you to play better. learn as much as you can from it.

if you can kick ass on a crappy guitar, imagine how you'll sound when you're playing on a good guitar. [:)]

you'll really feel worthy of the better guitar and you'll appreciate it more after you develop your hands and ears.

...then you'll outgrow that guitar and the process begins again. [:D][:-]

No matter how great a guitar you have, the grass will always seem
greener on the otherside.[:)]

Same thing with women.[8D]

Same thing with women

hey , could you explain this in details , especially the womens part [;)] ?

Gummy -> RE: A feeling (Jun. 12 2011 0:27:57)

I think as long as you never play another one, you will not know what you are missing.[;)] Some seem just fine till you want to try another palo but she won't. On the other hand, you may find one that is so good, your meager skills will never let her experience her full potential and she'd be better off with someone better than you.

RTC -> RE: A feeling (Jun. 12 2011 2:40:17)

Man right on

kudo -> RE: A feeling (Jun. 12 2011 3:10:15)

interesting. I sometimes find it that some rooms are more echo-ey or more acoustic , and the guitar sounds better there. sometimes its the humidity, sometimes its the strings and sometimes its my mood that affects the way I respond.
