HolyEvil -> Peghed vs ebony peg weight? (Jun. 8 2011 23:26:17)

Hi there guys, anyone knows the weight difference between a normal set of pegs and a set of peghed planetary pegs?
I read a post by P Tsorbi but he didn't mention the brand of planetary pegs that he used in his "weigh in"

Cheers

The pegs Peter used were from Pegheds.com. Bryan Burns was the main reseller of Peghed brand, but is no longer carrying them. Sad to see that as Bryan cleaned them up from the manufacture and would add dots on the ends at a great price. I guess you have to get them direct from Pegheds. Don’t know about weight, but it can’t be much more.

The other brand available is form Planetarypeg.com. They are primarily for the violin, cello market. I don’t know if they make anything for guitars.

The 8mm pegheds which most use weight 67 gms/6 which is only a few grams heavier than ebony or rosewood pegs. I have installed three sets and they work perfectly.
