Very few things get lost, my day job is to track these kinds of things down for the USPS. It's highly unlikely that someone would risk a decent paying job with benefits to steal something, it's probably sitting on the wrong shelf. OR, the carrier went to redeliver it or it got placed with the outgoing mail and will be back again on Monday. The best thing to do is to have your brother call the Post Office Monday morning between 7:30 and 9:30 am. That is when both the mailman and his supervisor will both be in the building and they can figure out where it got placed. Is it an apartment building? They usually have a locked box for parcels to go in. Delivery confirmations do not have to be signed for, they are usually left at the delivery address. Did you check the Delivery Confirmation scans at usps.com on the internet? If it doesn't show a delivery it would be the sender's problem, not yours and you should not be responsible. On the other hand, Insurance would have been about $7.00 and I think it's a good idea in case you had received it and some unforeseen accident had occurred in transit. If your brother doesn't find it on Monday send me a PM with the your brother's name and address, the delivery confirmation # and the phone # of his local post office. I'll call them on Tuesday.
