Amazing technique and sound!!!!

Ron.M -> RE: Javier Conde!!! (May 30 2011 20:20:33)

Javier is a strange fellow to fathom IMO.

He's a virtuoso Spanish player and seems to have heaps of technique, but to me, lacks the genius of say, Tomatito, or Riqueni, or the simpler style of Moraito or even yet, the precision style of Paco Peña...
It's great playing, but he doesn't convince me like the forementioned players.

Still, he's a young guy still....(at all...at all..[:D])

I think he practises guitar technique a lot.

cheers,

Ron

He seriously gives Grisha a run for his money, if not outdoes him. [:-] I just LOVE this kind of playing. Technique is very very very important to me as a guitarist... But I'm guessing y'all know that already. [:D]

Is that his own material?

That Alegrias is by Victor Monge Serranito.

yeah, precision is not something Javier is good at ... not! [:D]

He is a monster for sure... his pinky stretches out way long but still has power.
Im not a huge fan of him because im not a huge fan of the music and style he plays. Although there is probably no better player/interpretor for that kind of material (Serranito, maybe Sabicas, old Paco) on the planet right now.

Richard Jernigan -> RE: Javier Conde!!! (May 31 2011 0:32:05)

Speaking of technique, Javier's picado moves from the knuckle--third joint from the end of the finger--instead of the second joint.

Quite a number of people, including Graf-Martinez, say Paco's picado moves from the second joint. To me it looks like latter-day Paco picado moves mainly from the second joint, but the third joint is not entirely fixed.

Just saying....

I'm with Ron on this particular performance. Part of it might be his kinda slack-jawed stage presence... Grisha shows some real sensitivity and emotion on stage.

What album is it on? What is the piece entitled? I'd like to hear how the composer plays it compared to the interpreter.

Awesome! Serranito inputs more dynamics into his rendition. Perhaps Javier overdoes it with the moxie, but by Jove, it's hard NOT to just adore that machine gun picado. [:)]

HolyEvil -> RE: Javier Conde!!! (Jun. 1 2011 9:36:15)

anyone notice that his little finger is about the same length as his ring finger?

Yeah, I noticed that. I think he has some chromosomal abnormality. [:D] Makes him super-guitarist-man! [8D]
