Juan Serrano wrote a book, but as I recall there is not that much technical info. It is a nice book though. Maybe that solo compas stuff would be good too, but I think your going to have to get what your asking about directly from other folks who know. It's not a cut and dried thing, as dances change all the time. An alegrias, for example, which is one of the more structured dances, can have a silencio, or not. Studying spanish would be a wise thing, because if you get into it, the day's going to come when you have an opportunity to play for a Spanish artist, and not being able to communicate well verbally will inhibit your ability to do a good job. A command of Spanish will give you a leg up in flamenco circles even in english speaking countries.
