XXX -> Tech question (May 21 2011 7:35:26)

How would you play this example? I have written my version with ami but i wonder if someone or how many would leave out the a in this example...

either i'd finish with the middle finger, or i'd play the whole second part with pulgar...

it continues with an arpeggio, so the "last a" has to be there.
I cant seem to get good coordination with "amia", but i dont want to switch to "imia" without being sure that it doesnt worsen (is that a word?) my technique in future.

it really depends on the style, if this is a bulería, "a" is a must probably, but if it's a soleá, you can do almost anything you like...

Ricardo -> RE: Tech question (May 21 2011 23:40:12)

if it is meant to be apoyando, rest stroke like picado, then just IMIMIM...if it goes tirando then apoyando I would do a ima IMIM. If it is all tirando then as you wrote it is fine.

Oh if the last a starts an arpegio and you wanted picado before it...a IMIMI a etc....
