After almost four years with Sanchis guitars I switched to this 1979 Ramírez 1a.
It was a great experience to finally revise my repertoire on an instrument that is able to create the tonal subtleties that are necessary to catch the atmosphere of the different compositions.

the sound is not as open and powerful as on many spruce top guitars. Even some cedar top guitars I've tried were a lot louder.
The sound, however, is absolutely beautiful. I think Ruphus described the experience on his 1970 Ramírez as "cigar box flair" once which is a description that fits well.

As one gets closer to the high frets the trebles reveal a great potential that really impresses me. The basses are warm and dry.

There are new recordings to come!

congrats on the guitar! It looks gorgeous, and sounds great! I also liked how You played this tangos!

Man, the tapping plate above the basses is too small. No wonder the finish has suffered from some inaccurately placed capirotes... [:(]
