Guitaresque101 -> Best hand position for picardo and alzapua (May 8 2011 20:22:38)

Hi,

I'm new to flamenco, I'm having a technique issue I was hoping to get some thoughts about.

My hand position for picardo is high, fingers and wrist more strait, a bit like a bass player with a little more curve to the fingers. Switching to alzapua I find it more comfortable to bring my arm lower and having my wrist bent.

The trouble is, these 2 positions are quite far from each other and it's really slowing me down when I change between the 2 during falsetas. Should I be trying to find a mid way point so I don't have to move or, should I be learning how to move the arm faster?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)
