Just wanted to share this little thing with you players. Vicente Amigo was in the TV the other night. You know normal stuff: interview, why do you play the guitar, are you still nervous, playing a taranta etc. trivial things. But an interesting thing: According to Amigo, the most important and most difficult thing in playing flamenco guitar is NOT the technique, the compás, the composition etc (the normal things) BUT......... the attitude. This is very andalucian. The attitude. I live here, and I fully understand what he says and I fully agree and I think I live it. I dont know if I can explain it to someone who hasn't lived here though. So now you can think a bit about this. Another trivial thing was that he played this Taranta.... [:-] wouw. This guy plays so suttle and is capable of bringing out so much power of the guitar, that the conclusion must be that you don't need to play hard to play with volume. A good flamenco guitar responds very easily, and with the right attitude (LOL) you'll make it sing and bark without using excessive strength. Back to work[:)]
