NenadK -> Broken tuning key (Apr. 30 2011 21:06:04)

Hey everyone, so today I was tuning my guitar when the tuning key split right down the middle. It's a low end classical guitar and the key was made out of plastic. I've also had it for quite a number of years so I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. Anyway, I called the guitar shop I normally go to for these kinds of things and they told me they don't sell individual tuners and I would have to buy the whole set and replace it. What I'm wondering is, should I be able to replace these myself or should I just have the guitar shop do it for me. It seems like it wouldn't be particularly hard to do but I would just like to make sure that there isn't anything I'm not seeing. If I were to go through with this myself I would take the guitar to the shop and make sure that the tuners match. It shouldn't be too bad since this is the same shop where I originally bought the guitar and they still sell the same model. So is this something I should take on or is this a job for an expert? Also, any additional advice is appreciated. [:)] Cheers NK
