I really love this..

Antonio Rey's style to me seems very contemporary with uses of 7th and 9th extensions coupled with whole tone and diminished scales, I would love to be able to play like this but, who wouldn't right?

ahhh man, there are SO many great players!!!

One of my favs I'm listening to now is Moraito's "Morao Morao" - very in your face, solid grooves. EDIT: and of course Morao y Oro is killer. Released early 90s (92?)

Also Pepe Habichuela's albums are great - A Mandeli & Habichuela en Rama

I agree with everyone who's recommended Ricardo Marlow. I just got his album, Madera Sonora, yesterday. I've given it two listens so far, and it's good stuff -- really good!

I have some records by Manolo Sanlucar but where can I get this track

Less known, but really good, are also these guys:

Manuel Silveria

Manuel Valencia

Chuscales

Most renown Guitarist Juan Habichuela Nieto and Guitar-Maker Daniel Gil de Avalle together testing Gil de Avalle’s guitars at his Granada workshop and recorded by Tv channel France 5 for Échappées Belles.

His 2 new album to be launched on 9th September 2016.

I see he's still got that killer picado..[8D]

Oliver -> RE: Favorite Contemporary Flamenco Guitarists (Aug. 26 2016 21:05:13)

Rafael Cortés is also really great:

Diego del Morao - orate
Amir John Haddad - pasando por tabernas
Santiago Lara - El Sendero de lo impossible
Adam del Monte - Viaje a un Mundo Nuevo

Those would be my recommendations. But, in my opinion, few things really come close to De Mi Corazon al Aire. Vicente Amigo, whether you like him or not, is something unique.

Echi -> RE: Favorite Contemporary Flamenco Guitarists (Aug. 28 2016 18:34:21)

Jesus Guerrero is great.
You can find him also on Spotify.

Other than him, I suggest you Jeronimo Maya,

Myrdimm

And then as already said the great Antonio Rey and Amir John Addad

Cervantes -> RE: Favorite Contemporary Flamenco Guitarists (Aug. 29 2016 2:56:06)

I am always impressed by this guy.
Really clean technique and a wide range of repertoire.
He plays some classic stuff and puts his own spin on it.
