Hi,

Does anyone know which guitar is Jeronimo playing on the videos below... it seems that he's been using the same guitar for a while now... amazing flamenco sound for a Cedar/Rosewood guitar... bright, aggressive, punchy and dry, and yet rich and lush!

Thats a lot of prejudice. I´ve made some rosewood/cedar flamencos and they were all bright, aggressive, punchy and dry, and yet rich and lush. I actually find that the cedar top makes a rosewood guitar more lively. But its very much a solo or concert concept and it would not be my choice of guitar if I went to Jerez to play in a juerga.

What would be your choice then? Could you elaborate please?

Spruce/Cypress I guess?

I have wondered this too. From the rosette and headshape it looks like it could be a Domingo Esteso. or even some 60s Condes had that head shape?

Here is another video, I think the same guitar with close up shots but the label is always just hidden in shadow. I think it's great that he found a guitar that suited him and kept it through the years.

If I went to Jerez and was caught in a fiesta I would pray that no body ruins it by pulling out a guitar. [:D] I would hope it goes down palo seco with only palmas[8D]

I think that you're right... the headstock does suggest an old Esteso... the sound is definitely in that ballpark!

On second thought, judging by the rosette I think it's a 60's Vda. y Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso rather than an old Domingo Esteso.
