Adam -> D'Addario flamenco strings? (Apr. 13 2011 13:47:15)

I didn't know they made specifically "flamenco" strings:

Anyone tried these out? I know a lot of people here use their classical Pro Artes and they seem very good for flamenco, so I'm wondering how these would be different or better.

I tried the new flamenco strings. I like them. I especially like the black trebles that come with the set. They are more pliable than the clear strings. I have made them my new strings. The bases seem to be the same as the powerful J45C bases which have always been my favorite. The third G, as most are, are not as bright and loud as my favorite Savarez wound G, which I have used since they came out about 40+ years ago. These findings are based on my opinion on my particular guitar. [:)]

I had them on my guitar for one week and they sounded, well, okay. I then put the normal EJ45 strings on (not the composites) and they sounded just so unbelievable great compared to the flamenco strings.[:)]

So in conclusion I cannot recommend the flamencos [;)]
