VietFlamenco -> What constitute copyright infrignment in composition? (Apr. 3 2011 20:55:56)

I was reading over an old article about the band Coldplay getting sued by Joe Satriani for alledgedly plagiarizing their hit song Viva la Vida from Satriani's "If I could fly." If you check youtube, you can watch a side by side comparison of the two songs and how the melody fit almost perfectly together. That got me thinking, most of flamenco music are just basic variations of one another. Some stuff like in the solea are identical from one artist to another. Yet we don't consider this plagirism, just "borrowing". It'll be interesting to see the court's take on this issue.
