Paul Magnussen -> Carmen Linares advice (Apr. 3 2011 0:02:32)

I'm ready to get another Carmen Linares album (I have Cantaora). I'd like one accompanied by just guitar and jaleo, no bass or flutes or other clutter (yes, I'm a reactionary).

Any advice?

I enjoy listening to this one.

Have you considered her excellent anthology?

I don't know too much of her stuff but I'm a big fan of her Lorca album and her album with Gerardo, "Un Ramito de Locura."

Have you got 'Locura de Brisa y Trino', by Manolo Sanlucar? Carmen Linares sings on it and, in my opinion, it is a masterpiece.

Besides those above, try to find the following Carmen Linares albums:

1. Canciones Populares Aantiguas
2. La Luna En El Rio
3. Su Cante

"Su cante" - early stuff accompanied by Pepe and Luis Habichuela and Juan Carmona hijo. No bass or flutes.

What? Then what's the point?
