Leaving aside other considerations, a lot of classical guitar music is written by pianists whose understanding of the guitar varies from slight to nonexistent. One need look no further for an example than Manuel Ponce, whose music Segovia had to make all sorts of changes to before it was even playable. Other pieces are transcribed from other instruments, such as 'cello or violin. On the other hand, Flamenco is composed by guitarists for guitarists. So I was say Yes, comparing the most difficult pieces in each genre, classical definitely has it. If you doubt this, try the following: Bach: Chaconne, arr. Segovia Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez Rodrigo: Invocation & Dance Barrios: Danza Paraguaya (Barrios was a guitarist but he had huge hands) Ernesto Halffter: Danza de la Pastora I could go on…
