Hi people,

My first post here.
I've been playing quite a long time but have just started to look into flamenco techniques, because of a gig I've landed with a Spanish pop singer who does a lot of rumba/Gipsy Kings-type stuff (including a 10 minute GK-medley).
So I signed up with Jose Tanaka's lesson site and bought a cpl of lessons from flamenco-teachers.com by a guy named Ricardo, who I believe is the same Ricardo who posts on this forum. Excellent stuff!

For this gig I'm looking into a reasonable acoustic/electric flamenco guitar which reflects my level of flamenco-playing (which is total newbie level at this moment).

So far I've been looking at the Takamine EG522C (bad fret work)
a cpl of Yamaha's but the two I'm focusing on right now are:

Cordoba GK studio (new 599 Euro w/o case)
Alhambra CTWE-7FS (used 499 Euro incl case)

I would really like to hear your recommendations and opinions on these guitars for both live (amplified) and studio (acoustic) use. Of course I'm open to other suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Hans

Stay away from both of those brands in my opinion, they are factory made and the ones I have tried I didn't like. A Francisco Navarro blanca student model is about 600 euros, or 800 american
