Hi everyone,

Has anyone here tried one of the new Tomatito guitars?
I know that the formula of having a guitar line built by someone and 'inspected' by a famous guitarist seems a bit skeptical to some of us. But the Paco de Lucia line actually had some really good guitars, and I was wondering how the Tomatito line compared.
Thanks.

Saludos

A friend of mine got a Juan Miguel Gonzalez (one of the luthiers for the "tomatito" line) for only 2000€, a gorgeous guitar! Maybe you should look out for the standard models by Carillo and Gonzalez first.
However, I don't think the Tomatito and Paco de Lucía models differ a lot.

The JMG guitars are handmade by him whereas the Tomatito guitars are built in the Carrillo factory, so there is no direct comparison. I was fortunate to by one off ebay for a ridiculously low price as well.

Yet, that doesn't make the Tomatito guitars bad guitars. One needs to try them and determine whether it is a guitar to meet their needs. I have a friend who has a couple of Carrillo guitars and loves them and is a professional player and composer. He used them to record and thought they were better for recording than his other guitars. Condes and Sanchis (and Sanchis/Lopez) can be great guitars as well. Again, need to play them until you find one you like.

Holy Molly... that's a seriously good deal!! I hear Juan Miguel's guitars are killers!

This guitar at least is!
A Cedar top Cypress cannon that blows away anything that dares to cross it's way.
When you hit the strings you feel the vibration underneath your feet!
