Arash -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 6 2011 18:07:34)

oh no .

he was one of my guitar heroes in my youth.
loved that "still got the blues" and played it over and over again with my E-Guitar and MArshall Amp

RIP[:(]

Ron.M -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 6 2011 18:14:08)

Yeah...apparently he was "only" about 58.

Shows you he lived a rewarding and enjoyable life and burnt himself out early IMO. [:D]

This "creaking on till you're 95 with bad health, little money or friends, but great spirit!" **** is for the birds IMO. [;)][:D]

cheers,

Ron

His shapes of things solo, truly inspired me when I was in my teens.
He was a very melodic player.

RIP

Arash -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 6 2011 19:23:54)

there is no rewarding and enjoyable life without music.

I'm really shocked, that's very sad news.

Gary Moore was one of the main influences that started me playing guitar more than 30 years ago.

elgreco -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 6 2011 21:15:19)

This is really sad. Every time I travel down memory lane and look at high-school pictures, "Still got the blues" is buzzing on the background of my mind.

Neotriz -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 6 2011 21:40:46)

I was really hoping it was hoax, unfortunately it's true

today's sad day. He was one of my main influence in my electric guitar days

RIP

Here is a long solo (on a Strat for a change). He sure knew what he was doing.

jg7238 -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 7 2011 2:13:56)

It's sad, even though I don't play electric guitar I listened to some of his stuff. He was a talented artist. It would be nice to see Todd do an upload of "Still got the Blues". [;)]

avimuno -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 7 2011 4:51:18)

So sad... He's one of the reason why I started playing guitar [:(]

Moore wasn't really known for living a "rock star" life and he (seemingly, at least) didn't have any drug/addiction issues like a lot of his colleagues. Which makes his death all the more shocking and sad.

El Kiko -> RE: Gary Moore passes (Feb. 7 2011 12:24:01)

WOW ... I never knew of this passing ......a monster guitarist,,, I first came across him years ago in Colosseum II (Electric Savage), blew me away that album .. I thin I still got ' Back on the streets ' somewhere......

but he did what he did , and will be remembered for it ....

Goodbye Gary.

I forgot about that - I must have seen him live with them as well as Lizzy then, as I followed Hiseman for a while.
