mark74 -> Savarez Alliance (Jan. 26 2011 23:19:03)

These strings seem to have the best reputation for Flamenco from what Ive read or maybe Im wrong

People say the Conde Brothers strings are too expensive but also very agressive...yet theyre the same price as the Savarez Alliance..so is Savarez Alliance better?

ToddK -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 27 2011 0:02:14)

Carbon strings are for housewives and little girls.

Sorry, kidding.

My expirience with Saverez has been good, sound wise. But they are unfortunately not very consistant, and i encountered too many strings that
would not intonate correctly.
Once again, im back to Daddario.

mark74 -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 27 2011 7:28:27)

Thanks for your reply

I guess ill have to try these Savarez strings at least once

Arash -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 27 2011 19:33:17)

Conde strings are same as Luthier.
So you could buy Luthier and save few bucks.

Good strings. Both.

Savarez Basses sound good, but are totally DEAD after 2 or 3 days.
So. they suck imo.
And i also hate the trebles. They feel very weird.

La Bella 820B rule imo.

And of course Daddario.
I use EJ46 on one guitar. Also used E45 on a Negra.
They are best for practicing. Unbreakable. And good feeling while playing.

But forget the other La Bella's . I think they are called 2001 or 2002 or something like that. Total crap.

Ron.M -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 27 2011 19:38:16)

Hey Arash..

That's 'cos they are 9, 10 years past their "use by" date..

Silly boy...[;)][:D]

cheers,

Ron

Exactly my experience too.

mrMagenta -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 28 2011 16:33:16)

I like the Savarez Corum Alliance package. I get somewhat shorter life out of the corum basses than d'addario EJ45s, but nothing dramatic, quite similar.. but perhaps we're not talking about the same strings. I think the alliance basses might be different, I haven't used other savarez strings for a long time.

Corum + Alliance is my reference set that I compare other strings to. I keep returning to it, though I like luthiers too.

Dead after 2 or 3 days I cannot relate to from any strings I've tried so far. Perhaps we have a different ideal. I find basses too shrill the first 2 or 3 days.

eg.czerny -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 28 2011 17:00:47)

For what it's worth, here is a list of strings that I tried in the past year in order of preference. I keep a (subjective) performance record of all strings on two different guitars. How they feel, how quickly they break in, how they sound after 2 days, a week, a month. I just tried the Savarez Cantiga. Especially loved the basses. Overall they were slightly better than Alliance. None of these kept their brilliance over a week, some like La Bella 820 only lasted 2 days. I stopped using Dadderio a few years ago. They were once my standard brand but the Savarez are much better on my guitars. The next one I am testing is Luthier Concert Gold. Interesting that so many players like La Bella 820 or the Dadderio. Different guitars and different playing styles I guess.
Savarez Cantiga 510
Savarez Alliance 540
Hannabach Flamenco 828MT
Hannabach Flamenco 827MT
La Bella 2001
Conde Hermanos 735
Royal Classicas FL60
La Bella 820 - B

etta -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 29 2011 14:30:43)

Having tried many combinations of strings on a number of guitars, I keep coming back to the Savarez Alliance trebles and Corum basses, all high tension. For a couple of guitars with exceptionally low actions, I use Alliance high tension basses which seem stiffer. I have no complaints about the longevity of the strings. The trebles seem to last forever.

yohan -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jan. 29 2011 14:52:15)

I'm currently using Luthier popular supreme normal tension and I really like them, but is it true they last very very short? anyone else has that problem or is it just me [8|]

Anyway tone-wise I can't really say I hear a lot of difference between all the different brands of strings. (except for those la bella black strings which really sound like crap, if crap could make a sound). I've tried other strings but I always keep coming back to d'addario, probably because they're cheap and everywhere available.
I think most people buy different type of strings just for the fun and the nice shiny packages.

Alatriste -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jun. 17 2011 2:29:19)

Bad batches?

Just mounted some Savarez 540R (normal) on one guitar and 540J (high) on another. After almost a week of stretch-in, they both sound horrible. In fact it was noticeable as soon as I put them on. No sustain on the basses, no brightness on the trebles. Usually these strings sound fine.

I am wondering about their quality control process or if fakes are out there now.

edguerin -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jun. 18 2011 15:41:05)

After asking the Bellidos what strings their guitars were delivered with, I put Savarez Corum normal tension trebles and high tension basses on my 1987 Manuel Bellido (while I still had it) and was quite satisfied with the result.
At the moment I'm playing D'Addario EJ25B Pro-Arte COMPOSITES Flamenco Black Nylon on my Eliasson blanca, but will probably return to D'Addario EJ46C Pro-Arte clear trebles and composite basses.

Alatriste -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Jun. 25 2011 17:10:05)

The strings finally seem to have the normal tone. This was most unusual. I do not attribute this to normal stretch-in time. I'll see how the next batch goes after these wear out. I'm still sticking with the Savarez line.

At first I was impressed to see a company representing themselves in such a personal and honest fashion here on the Foro...and then you proceeded to find and sh*t up every remotely related thread with the same copy & paste post. Goodwill gained and lost again...

I wonder if this post is from company itself and i think that it's a unprofessional movement. [&:]

I preffered an official announcement!

Strange, I find it's the opposite. I can kill a set of Savarez basses in a couple hours, but the Luthiers hold their tone after much abuse! [;)]

FWIW, I used to use Savarez 520P exclusively, as I love the tone of their fresh basses, and the wound trebles are so bright - has anyone else tried them? - they have such great clarity. Unfortunately, they also burn my fingertips if I play a full night with them, so I eventually stopped using the wound trebles, though I still think they are superior sound-wise.

So these days I use Luthier Popular Supreme medium tension basses, and d'Aquisto high tension trebles.

Ι think you're searching for an intrigue right now...

When you give money and the product is not good then you write here in this foro that you wasted your money.

Isn't possible to happens this from someone that you never met before? If you dont agree with this, then you might be callow.

BTW, if she's your friend tell her that her company must improve their products.

Cheers!

I agree with you, but you have to ask this to all members here in foro, who use avatars of Paco, Vicente, Pepe, Gerado etc...

Maybe i could do that, asking Moraito if i can use his photo as an avatar, but unfortunately he died.

Maybe you have to start a thread for this issue...

Anyway, this is a "Savarez Alliance" thread. We can talk about this in another post.

Finally

So back to topic, I have savarez alliance on my guitar right now, with Cantiga basses. I didn't know that alliance strings are actually carbon.
Well, I've got a set of Savarez cantiga as a present, but in hard tension. I don't like hard tension strings at all, but the sound was so charming!
But the hardness of these strings are unbearable for me, so I tuned down a whole step each string! Wow my blanca sounded like a piano or whatever!
VERY strong sound. So I've decided to try a set of these - in normal tension.

It's a great string, but somehow I don't really like the feel of it.
back to the adventure of searching the best strings for my blanca!

gounaro -> RE: Savarez Alliance (Mar. 17 2012 21:10:47)

Maybe you can use D' Addario Composites bass with Luthier 30 trebles. This combo works in many guitars.

el carbonero -> RE: Savarez Alliance (May 30 2013 15:53:04)

i have tried almost all strings of STB.and all sorts of combo strings

in this moment i have knobloch on my new guitar conde,and the savarez alliance are much better.

Finally the best strings are savarez alliance so far,(french touch!)

the only i dont have tried are the dr junger, sevilla strings,and lebella argento.

i just ordered the labella argento pure silver,but all set because bass set not have.

but labella i tried 3 differents sets in 2008,on the 3 sets the treble was not just in intonation.
So i will keep the bass argento and the treble,direct to the trash.
this strings are very expensive,i hope are extraordinary.

the proarte finally dont live more long than the alliance,all people belive that because the wear are hidden,but i hear in 2 days the brillance of the pro arte is totally dead.
hannabach ,luthier.....dont live much.all the bass sets died fast.
perhaps the argento no.

for the moment the alliance are really really better than all the other.

(sorry for my english)

tele -> RE: Savarez Alliance (May 30 2013 18:06:45)

I really like the corum alliance med tensions, way better than luthier or daddario. I use the alliance G string but as e and b strings I like hannabach classic hi tension
